A Poem
Written By Charlie Walker
By Evie Cooper
With a mop or a cloth, a pair of handcuffs or syringe,
You go unnoticed, without a smile or grin,
You can suffer,
With this job that is tougher,
Then just wiping or typing away.
You can wipe, you can mop,
You can work without stop,
You can drive through the night,
Saving someone’s life,
And go home without a thank you.
You may feel unappreciated,
You may not have been domesticated,
But we need you we do, we do.
Who will save lives?
Who will drive by?
Who will clean?
Who will serve at the canteen?
If you were to disappear.
Your jobs may not be sublime,
But I, myself, do not have the time
Or experience to do as well as you.
So a big thank you, to you and you
for doing… well… just what you do.
