My Dad

By Bryson Hanna

Highly Commended, ‘Growing Word’ Category

My dad’s a paramedic, he does it everyday.
He saves lives and helps people, in all kinds of ways.
People never noticed him, people never cared.
Then came the pandemic, and everybody heard.

He works all day, he works all night.
Getting a break, would be such a delight.
I’m in my bed, all cozy and warm.
My Dads outside, right to the morn.

We clap and we cheer, but that is no use.
My Dad still goes out and gets the abuse.
He tries his best, to save everyone.
But everyday he always loses some.

I’m so proud of my Dad, he came all this way.
I long for the day, it’s all gone away.
I thank you Dad, I love you so much.
I know there are 1000’s that love you as much!!!
